What does "crawling" and "indexing" mean?

Crawling

Your webshop consists of regular pages and product pages. To make your products available in the comparison widget we need to know where on your webshop your products can be found, so we crawl your webshop just like search engines do.

Whenever you add a new product, the crawler will automatically find it and store it's location. After that, the indexer will make sure your products are ready to be compared with each other.

Indexing

The process of indexing makes sure all your products and their specifications are available for the comparison widget in a structured way. This happens automatically so you'll never have to do any extra work to make sure the specifications of your products are available for comparison in the widget.

How often are my products updated?

How often new products are discovered and how often your changes to existing products are indexed depend on your payment plan and vary from once a week to every hour. Please check the pricing page for more information.

To make sure you don't have to wait too long until the next crawl or index to see changes from your product pages in the comparison widget, we will also provide you with the option to request an update.
